My fingerpicking issues....

Sign in to disble this ad
Ok. I started fingerpicking about 2 months ago and I was able to play just fien, switching strings fast was no big deal, now when I find I play I only use my pointer finger. I hate it, I want to use both so I can play at a good speed but nto too slow either. Has ths ever happened to you so that you could help me?

Note: I've been practicing with my pointer and ring, it still doesn't help.

those 2 fingers are the best 2 to use when just starting to play, and just best to use, for me, go index middle index middle and u should get pretty smooth

i just found out a few days ago that, that just say i'm moving from d to a, i use my index and kind of stroke down so i hit them both, is this a bad habbit or should i start practicing so that i always go index middle??

This is an awesome website with some free lessons. Adam Nitti is a monster. Check out the Right Hand lesson:

AND the putting it all together lesson:

Enjoy!

I used to rake too, but for some reason it felt like i play way better when i stopped, less sloppier etc... play how you feel.
