I'm a left handed bassist playing a right handed guitar (and I dont' reallyfeel like starting a left hander any time soon). I've been playing for about 2 months and can't seem to get my right hand to two finger pick above 104 bpm 16th notes. I have been working on it for about the last 2 weeks with the metronome with no real improvement. How long should it take to see improvement? I'm starting to think I just lack the coordinatino in my right hand to be fast.

might sound counterintuitive, but I suggest that you slow down and pay careful attention to your technique. Make sure it's really as efficient and clean as possible, with as little wasted motion as possible. Focus on that playing slowly. That's how you'll make improvements at speed.
