Nail wearing away when popping, help!

My nail is always wearing away when I pop, primarily on my index finger, what can I do to stop it going down to the hard nail, as it limits how much I can pop, and means I have to use my middle finger, which is larger, slower and less clean at popping.

I'll take a photo tomorrow, and post it . It just seems to be catching : O. I'm scared of cutting my nails as it would keep wearing away until i'm bleeding by the looks of it.

Not sure exactly what technique you're using, but when I pop the nail has nothing to do with it. The fleshy part of the fingertip is what 'pops' the string....

I'm lost as to how your nail is getting in the way. Are you turning your hand sideways or something? Do you have long/fake nails?

You could take gelatin to strengthen your nails, if you're actually using your nails to play.
