Hey not sure if this had been coverd or not but just wanting some advice if there is any! I have played bass for 20 years and i am now just getting this horrible pain in my back after playing for more that a hour at a time. I keep my bass up in a jazz style all the time. I have had neck problems for years now but my back never really botherd me before. I also use a thick strap. Just wanted to see if anyone else has had these problems and what they have done about it? Not sure what to do about this! I cant really move the bass up any futher and i wont do the skid row bass style!

It is possible to have the bass too high (as well as too low). I used to play with my bass up high, and I found my right shoulder hunching up to adjust, now I play with it alittle lower and I have better posture for it.

So, do you think maybe it's too high? (just thought I'd throw it out there)
