Neck Pain

Okay, I have been working a few months now, and have started to experience neck pain when I play.

When I practice, I am mainly sitting. When I first began, I tried not to look at the frets at all. However, my instructor wants me to look at the fretboard until I grow comfortable with the positions, notes etc.

So while I am practicing I am looking down and left at the Fretboard.

When I am done, my neck hurts, and it crackles.

Probably not much I can do here, but wondered if anyone else experiences this issue?

No, but do your best to find a comfortable position. You can also ask your instructor for suggestions.

If you can afford it, go see a reputable chiropractor once in awhile.
