need help with slap!

Sign in to disble this ad
hi

im new to the forums so if i make any mistakes please forgive!

i was wandering around on youtube and i found this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kxsv5dvqy7A

and i was wondering if the tone he gets is a fender thing, a EQ thing or an effects thing etc

i am having great trouble getting this on my main bass (wich is a Yamaha RBX somthing with active pickups), i do own two other basses (one is legend and the other a fender squire P bass) but both need new strings (which im getting tomorow) so i cant really test on them.

thanks for the help!

This is a joke right? He has a fake giant thumb haha. If you like that sound, play the drums!

not to be rude, but that's not really much of a slap sound. I know everyone has their tastes, but it wasn't really unique (or funny...kind of disturbing to see a green guy in underwear).

This is more of the classic fender slap sound people shoot for: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NHdN_O5k3WM

What tone? He's not playing bass in that video. The only thing you hear is a drumset. And the guy trying to be funny. The buh-buh, bu-bu-buh is a bass drum. It's a comedy video. I hope I'm not feeding a troll here...
