Question Need some jazz help!

As I'm kinda noob playing real music (jazz, funk and the kind), I wanna get some advice abou good songs or artist and books to begin playing, can help me great bass players from the earth?

i thought jazz was fake music. at least that book i have is fake...

Consider some of these books, in particularly Vol 1, 2 & 3. The matching Play-a-Long CDs are a good practice tool:

If you buy just 1 jazz collection for listening, I suggest the Blue Note 'Blue Book' title.
