Post New bass player here need some tips

Im brand new to bass but i have been playing drums for 4 years so im looking into playing bass, I have been looking up tabs for songs and learning some riffs to get used to the picking style and frets but the tips of my fingers are like blistering anyone know why? Or how to stop this? im picking the guitar right? Any videos of how to proberly pick it?

You mean your right hand, correct? There are more than a couple of approached to right hand technique and I haven't been playing long enough to tell you what's best but this may get you started.

Good luck. The only advice I can confidently give you is practice, practice, practice....

It makes all the difference.

Just keep playing. Eventually your fingertips will turn to steel and you'll be good to go for hours.

Just keep playing, the blisters will turn to calluses and you'll be fine.

Either that or hold you hand over a gas stove like that guy in "The Professional"

Don't let the blisters get infected if you try to keep playing with open wounds. I suggest you let them heal some and then play a bit each day while increasing your practice time as you go so the callouses build up instead of blistering.

+1. Let the blisters heal before playing. Also, if you are not doing so already, try playing with a lighter touch, and turn up the amp instead, to compensate, if necessary.

Until you get the calluses. Then start turning the amp back down and pulling harder. It'll sound better, trust me
