New pinch harmonic thecnique?

so i was messing around on my bass trying to do some solo stuff ( i was inspired by lauri porra last night) and i tried some wierd stuff.

i kind of did a downstroke on the g with my right index nail and held the 12th with my left hand, and it almost sounded like a pinch harmonic a guitarist would do. i messed around with this for a bit and i almost have it pefected now.


I was wondering i this a commonly know technique?



btw you kinda have to just skim the string with your nail, but hard not a weak skim.
