New stuff to do

so yea ive been playing bass for about 5 years and im slowly getting distant from my bass. is there anything i can do to get more motivated or new techniques i can learn that will get me back into the swig of things?

Pick up another instrument. You'll get back to bass when the time comes. If you're a pro, it's your job, deal with it. If not, it's a hobby and it has to be fun. Don't force anything.

Pick something you can't do on bass, and focus on learning that. Can't slap? Focus on that! Can't solo? Focus on that! This especially works if it's something you really want to be able to do.

Join a band or at least start jamming with a drummer. That alone can make playing bass so much more fun and satisfying.
