Anyone else a victim of this bad habit? When I freestyle basslines I find myself always reverting to the cross-string, two finger scaling method... for instance only playing on the 2nd and 4th frets of every string. I can still achieve a variety of notes, but when I hit a note on the 3rd or 5th fret it doesn't seem to "bridge the gap" that I'm aiming for at the moment.

Can anyone here sympathize?
