I'm a punk guy, but lately I've wanted to get better at fingerstyle playing.
I honestly cannot believe how much of a different a thumbrest has made. I can fly around the strings, and while I'm not as fast as I am with a pick, I'm on my way. Plus, as far as cutting through goes, playing near the bridge is perfect for me. The P up didn't give me enough tension, not to mention was a little uncomfortable.

Thank you, I'm quite fond of it.
I put the thumbrest at an angle because it somewhat matches the same angle the "real" thumbrest is when it's placed on the pickguard. Also, I like the look of it that way as opposed to parallel to the strings.
