Palm Mutting

I was reading an interview in a magazine with Anthony Jackson. He spoke of palm mutting . How said he played with Fingers while palm mutting but I dont see how that is possible. I can mute with the side of my hand on the bridge and pluck with a thumb.

I'm doing it right now and it's not hard, but maybe I'm doing it wrong. I just hover my hand over the strings. When ya pluck you're doing more of a pull away, but you can set your palm down quick. Kinda neat, not my flavor. Hell I still think i'm not doing it right, unless he's just really quick with it...
