Palm Sweat?

Sign in to disble this ad
Ive recently started gigging and have come to realize that I get sweaty palms. Nervousness or whatever, the sweat is still there.

NOw, I can dry them off not too poorly just on my pants or a towel.

However, the sweat gets on the bass strings and thats a nono. Any reccomendations on how to keep your hands nice and crisp?

Powder might work...just a little bit and rub it in very well. also wash your hands before, If I'm not mistaken washing your hands and having clean hands helps to reduce sweat...him you could put anti perspirant on your hands....

Actually, I was thinking about that today.

Im a weight lifter, and I came home with semi0chalked hands and tiwddled around on my beater bass and found my grip to be quite nice.

But I dont really wanna dirty my bass, the chalk would get in between the roundwounds :\

Anti persperant would probably be kinda slippery and powder wouldn't be Ideal, I have the same problem though and I think putting a little bit of rubbing alcohol on your hands and working it in (rub them together or whatever) should do the trick. I know I've heard it can stop sweating, and it seems that the only thing that stops sweating in anti persperant is alcohol anyway. I don't know if extensive use of this method would damage sweat glands , but if it was just for giging I guess it should be ok.
