I saw the "fingerstyle players playing low thread" and wondered about the exact opposite...Pick players who wear their bass high. Does anyone know any bassist out there like that?

I guess high would be the bottom of the bass touching the belly button or around there

When I'm tired I'll hike it up to pretty near that position, I don't know of any professionals with that style.

Me. Heh heh...

I wear my 6er pretty high and predominantly play with various plectrums, though I do play fingerstyle or with my thumb at times also. Probably about 80-20.

Um, I have mine high and use a pick about 90% of the time. I'm quite self conscious of it, though no-one who has seen me play has said anything to me. I did tell a friend that I play with my bass high, his response was "oh dear"!! So i said, "Well i can only use two fingers when its low" and he said, "well, only use two fingers then!"

I don't mind looking goofy if my left hand works better!

Chris Squire wore his Rick on the high side. I used to wear mine high, now I'm sort of in the middle.

Does that stop him from wearing his bass high while picking? :P

And yes, The Who band members, along with fans, called him Thunderfingers.
