Here is an interesting web site explaining pick thickness as well as types of pick edges.

Awesome!

I've been a total pick whore since I started playing guitar, and am having a hard time putting it down for bass

Thumbs up nothing wrong with playing w/ pick

i play with a pick about 75% of the time.
i can only use one type of pick though. the Jim Dunlop little dark purple Stubby 3.0
i can't use any other size or style of pick. these have no flex and are small. they feel effortless to play with with the small size and accuracy.
any regular size pick like my guitarist uses feels like a giant tupperware lid in my opinion.
try em you'll like em.

I'm having to use a pick more lately because I mashed my index finger. I usually play pick about 50% but now its closer to 90%. Currently using a Fender Heavy but tried just about all picks and some non traditional picks like metal washers, wood slivers, and various plastic containers that I have cut picks from.
