Pick-Up height for playing slap bass?

Sign in to disble this ad
Should the pick-up's be adjusted much lower for playing slap bass than they would normally be when playing a bass the "Normal" way?

Or do I just need to work on my technique so I can play slap style with the pick-up's set wherever they may be set to?

The reason I ask is because it is very hard to get the tone/note to sound out loud enough over the slapping sound. Probably just my technique!

Thank you.
