If you want an efficient way of disposing of picks to go fingerstyle, just get one of those things you click onto your mic stand that hold like 10 picks. The just throw your pick on the ground to go fingerstyle and grab another one when needed.

Or try drilling a hole through a pick, threading an elastic band through it, and wearing that around your palm.

When you need your fingers, just let go; I'm sure if you practiced "getting the pick back" with your right hand it would become really easy to do it with speed and accuracy.

Let me know if anyone tries this and it works -?

as to where i store my pick, i have a simple answer.
one day, after i gig, i was fed up of searching for picks in my pockets (when i had pockets). so i created a double-finger ring out of safety pins, beads, and hair elastics. i wish i had a picture. anyways it a ring that goes around my two playing fingers with a pick sticking up on one of the safety pins. when i need to switch to pick, i just flip my fingers and whoosh, i have a pick, and when i dont need it, i just twirl the ring again and there we go, its back in its place. theis fabulous contraption cost me no money, and has saved me TONS of time during gigs and practice.
Peace & plaid

I could wedge it in the gap between my bridge pickup and the body, but that seems inelegant and it would pop out eventually anyway. Any suggestions?

1 A lot of my time now, my hand floats, but sometimes it still rests on the edge of the bridge. It used to do this more of the time, but I've improved and now it floats more.

2 I usually stick my pick in my back pocket!! When Iplay fingerstyle it's for the entirety of 2 songs out of our set just now ,so I jus put it in my back pocket when I ain't using it!
