Pinch/artificial harmonics + slap 'n' pop

When I first started learning how to slap and pop on bass, I tended to rest my forearm on the strings. This gave me artificial harmonics in addition to slap and pop sounds (ie they were happening simultaneously without really effecting each other). Obviously I got better and got out of the habit, but looking back, I think the 'technique' was kind of cool, but haven't been able to repeat it. Has anyone tried this or have any suggestions?

Sure I do occasionaly. I use the heel of my hand, but you need to pay attention to where you place your hand to pop.
