 Pinky Muting

I've been playing bass for about 4 1/2 months now. When I was learning the basics, I always had trouble muting strings with my left hand, so I adopted my own method. I use my right hand pinky to lie flat on the tops of the strings I'm not playing. It really only works for muting a lower string than the string I'm playing, and I use my left hand a bit if the higher strings need muting. Does anyone else use this same technique, and are there any problems I may encounter later on as a result of it? |
