Pinky pain

Hey i was playing the main riff from New Born by Muse which in tab is
G-------9--------------------------------
D---------7-9----------------------------
A-----7----------------------------------
E-----------------------------------------
You just repeat it and go down the neck, but anyways when i started playing it i started getting cramping pain in my left hand with the pinky and ring fingers. When ever I play now i cant play with my ring and pinkey without gettin that pain again. It sometimes is there even when im not playing. If anyone has any ideas what is causin my pain
Thanks

You're squeezing too hard. Lower the action if you can. If not, go REAL slow. Like 1/4th of the song's normal tempo and press down each string as lightly as you can while still having a clear sound.

Especially since it's so far up the neck, it shouldn't be so hard to play.

Also, since the first two notes are a bit apart, make sure to rotate your wrist and not stretch your fingers super far apart.
