Do you play baritone?

Do you approach it as a bass or guitar?

I play it bass-ically mostly in the low end using riffs and scales and runs learned on the bass, but last night I saw a guy in a country rock/rockabilly band who was playing it guitarist-ically with chords and guitar licks in the fifth to 12th fret area.

Interesting.

What do you do?

I play it like a bass. I can't stand the chimey like sound from the unwound strings. Thing is, when my guitarist plays it, it sounds awesome. My guitar technique is pretty shoddy though. It's a 30" scale bc rich and I will be converting it to a bass VI configuration soon.
