Playing a 6 string bass improved my 4 string playing

I recently decided to get a 6 string bass just to try something different and challenge myself a bit. I never played a 5 for an extended period, figured i might as well just go all out . I started using it exclusively at practice trying to get used to it, which I sort of did. It's a very cheap 6 string, cuz I didn't know if I'd stick with it so I didn't want to spend a ton of money.
Well, my band had a relatively big show over the weekend and I decided to just take the 4 string even though I hadn't really been playing it, mainly because it's a nicer bass (schecter stilletto custom) and has the PERFECT sound (for me) through my halfstack (m9 carbine + mesa2x10 +mesa 4x10).
I noticed almost instantly that my playing was much better and much more creative. While I enjoyed playing on the 6 string, it's not past the point where it feels like a chore. playing the 4 string felt so natural and so perfect!
I'm not knocking the 6 string in anyway. I stil enjoy it. I just found it refreshing and kinda cool that playing it improved my performance on the 4 string.
Anyone else have any similar experiences?

Anytime I go from my 6 to a 4, or upright to electric, it feels so much easier to play, effortless, not having to mute other strings, so yeah, I know exactly how it feels!

When I made the transition from 4 to 6 strings I realized how sloppy my technique was. Now, all of my playing techniques are much better. 4 feels like a breeze when I come back to it.
