playing bass with mallets

Folks are calling me crazy but in a past life I remember a video (I swear it was midnight oil) where a bassist was playing with two mallets extended from his first two fingers. Can someone fill me in on who this was or possibly a video. Or tell me I'm nuts.

I may possibly be selling these. I made a pair of my own, and I'm waiting for the plastic dip to dry. I'll post pictures up when they are done. if I do sell them, would there be interest in purchasing a pair?
