Please guide me in the right direction

Hi guys,

So I have been playing bass for a while now, but I mostly learn the songs and then play them, like I used to do on the guitar. I want to improve my playing though. I know most of the scales and intervals, but where I have a hard time, is to connect them together during a song. Could you guide me to some theory that could help me learn to connect them together?

BTW, I do know the "Circle of fifth" to find my 4th's and 5th's down the neck.

Thanks!

It's hard to learn the bass simply by yourself. Practicing with other musicians is really a necessity. You may already be jamming with others, I don't know. Playing along to songs is a great exercise though. You can really feel the other instruments around you. Theory is generally the easiest part. Actually learning how to play takes time. It sounds like your on the right tract, good luck .
