Plucking fingers and fretboard fingers

So I am in a bit of a problem right now. My plucking fingers are significantly faster than my fretboard fingers.....in other words my fretboard fingers lag behind enough to the point to where I am really getting frustrated with it. I use a metronome to increase my speed, however, this has only really been used for my plucking hands. Are there any techniques as to how I can find some common ground between my fingers on each hand?

Practice, plain and simple. You practice, and then practice some more, then you keep on practicing. You don't learn to play overnight. I've been at it for 20 years and I am still improving.

Scales, gotta do your scales. Most fretting patterns cover four frets and you have four fingers are you using all four fingers on your fretting hand? Slow back down and get everything under control, then speed up gradually. Both hands must be in control and work together. I think scale work is the answer you are looking for.

One of the things I do with a metronome, I go on the low string, 1-2-3-4 5-6-7-8 9-10-11-12, then back down a string up, then back up on the next, then back down (I play a 4 string) so I keep my left and right hand in sync, this also works my transitions.
