Poker Chip Tricks for Hand Dexterity

Sign in to disble this ad
Any other poker fans in here? Anyone else use chip tricks as a method for improving hand dexterity and flexibility?

I started getting into poker shortly after I started playing bass and found that once I started to teach myself some chip tricks, I became much more comfortable with bass techniques like quick triplets, fretting with my pinky, etc.

I used to do stuff like that, but then I figured that the best exercises for playing bass were to play bass.

this is actually NOT a good idea, there is some repetitive stress potential from several of the typical chip tricks (especially chip shuffling with the way most people cup their wrists). i don't see any real benefit to your bass playing, just because it involves moving fingers fast i don't know that it would help you... i mean, do you consider the time spent typing to be helpful for bass playing also?

ex-degenerate gambler.

chip tricks don't do much for dexterity at all. playing chopin and rachmaninov, that'll do it.

well, i've never really seen poker chip tricks that can help with hand dexterity, but what did benifit me the most, like i'm shocked how much it helped me what just how to twirl my pen/pencil.
my brother found a video on youtube, showed me how to do it, (not the one were they are spinning aorund their thumb, i'm talking about all four fingers) it helps me with like everything. Once i was able to do it with both hands i've noticed much more like single finger dexterity. Like each finger has much more independence.

I play a lot of poker...

If I shuffle chips too much (full stack of 20) my wrist sometimes hurts the next day...
