Popping question

Hey everybody,
Yesterday I played some slap&pop for 20 minutes, before that,
it was just a few seconds everyday and it felt OK.
after those 20 minutes I got a blister on the side of my index finger,
and I wondered if it's because I haven't played slap&pop that much (like when you just start playing bass)
or if it's because my technique is bad.
Thanks,
Amit.

P.S - sorry if there are any grammar mistakes, english isn't my main language.

I would say it is because your fingers are not used to playing that long.

It's normal. Keep playing, develop the calluses over time.

Happened to me once, except, I was drinking while practicing (I don't anymore, withhold thy flames). Didn't feel a thing. Next day, I couldn't even type, I'd messed my hands so badly. 3 days before I could play. Never again.

One night, about two or three months after I started playing, I did all thumbpicking and slap-pop for about four hours straight. Let's just say I never thumbpick, and rarely slap-pop anymore. My entire thumb was blistered, and my fingers couldn't move without cracking. That blister was a b*tch to get rid of, and I didn't pick up my bass for a week. I guess it's just one of those things only certain people do.

sorry to interrupt, but this is the third time I've looked at this thread title and thought it said "pooping question".
