Popping technique trouble

Sign in to disble this ad
hey all, i've hit a wall with my popping tech, i started to change the way i pop coz i'm learning licks from louis johnsons bass lesson video, but i cant seem to pop it like he does, and i just end up goin back into fleas style of poping which is what i've been doin for nearly 3 year now, i started to actually pop pulling the strings more with my fingers instead of flicking my wrist back like flea if u no what i mean, basicly flea has his hand verticle to the strings, louis has it more goin accross the bass, but i just dont no wheather to change my slap pop style or just keep improving my Current style, which is more like Fleas than louises, bah, decisions

I'd develop my own style, as long as it sounds good and doesn't cause trouble down the line.
