Practicing A Solo

Hi,

So my teacher showed me the song School Days by stanley clarke, i know the main parts and he showed me the positions and scales for the solo

he asked to work on the solo on my own, i found a great tab and know a little bit already, but what are some good praticing techniques for practicng a solo espcially one so difficult

when ever im practicing a solo first I just start playing the whole thing slowly for a while until you can play it slowly and remember all of it.
Afterwards work through each bit playing it slowly and building it all up to speed. Even if its only roughly 5 or 6 notes just work on that bit and be methodical and it will be fine.

Turn each little bit into an exercise and work it through until you're really comfortable with it- then start joining them together.
