Grab notes? I've seen the way Cliff's pinky sticks out but that's not really part of his technique, it was busted in an accident and always stuck out like that (when he played)

As I just mentionned in the 3 finger technique thread, I sometimes do my 3 finger as follows

index-middle-index-pinky-index-middle-index-pinky

I know I'm weird. I like it. lol.

Cliff only ever played with 2 fingers. As for playing with 4, I really see no point. I get what I need done with 2. Although, I do admit that the reason I only use 2 is because it is just easier and I'm lazy, but 2 gets the job done.

I wouldn't say I grab'em, but I have a special purpose for my pinky: I keep that nail a little longer (can't go too long with it anymore because I tap too now), and reserve it for trebly-sounding notes and trebly 'strums'.

I really do use it..
