I'll try it... I always have problems live with my warwick because i ram the edge of my hand into the brass nut. If anything, this will provide some cusion. I want to get a rastafarian one... i don't play reggae, but I love listening to it!

edit: we should design a bass clef one and sell it in the TB store not as a sweatband, but as a "tapping mute".

Sure you can, but you'll get a muffled sound (some players may find that desirable).

wooten uses this technique, to mute the strings that he hits accidentally when slapping.

i never heard of using it for tapping- can someone please explain more??

When you tap notes, you also hit harmonics, so there is ringing and noise...

I know this is an old thread, but I recently tried this and it works great on my 5 string for slap.... 4 string I don't need to mess with..
