Question about Matt Garrison technique

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey everyone, I'm kinda a newbie, don't have much experience on playing and I thought that I could start learning this technique, but I'm worried that this thing get on my way of things that I should learn before.

So, it's good to start learning this from the beginning and appplying it to all the new things that I'll eventually learn or I have to see this technique as a complement and only start to practice it once that I'm a more advanced player?

I'd say start learning it now. I wish I'd learned it when I was beginning, since now I'm trying to break habits and get into the t-i-m-r motion.

it took me a good year of just working on that technique to get it down to where i'm not even thinking about it and can execute it on the fly almost mid line

I'm just starting to play and found what this was all about in the sticky thread. I'm sure that I will be learning this one in a future, not now. I think that if I skip some sutff that I'm practicing now I'll be doing the wrong thing.

But if you feel that you can go back and practice things that you already did with your current style of playing, go for it!
