question for anyone with the "best of victor wooten" book

how do you play the bits where its not specified which technique to use, e.g. the beginning of "you can't hold no groove", right after the strumming. it sounds to me like vic slapped it, but what do you do? slap it normal? double thumb it? pluck it? get your pleccy out? do tell!

just curious cos i can't get it to sound quite right, although i suspect this is probably due to me being (a) not victor, and (b) not having any of vic's nice gear
cheers chaps!
