Question on playing "Woman" from Wolfmother

Sign in to disble this ad
Wasn't sure which forum to put this in but since it's basically about technique I figure I'd put it here.

My band is currently working on "Woman" by Wolfmother. I'm still working on the speed as right now I can only play it clearly at around 110 bpm. Now here are my questions.

During the verse, do I hamer-on/lay-off some of the notes or should I be picking the string on every note? If the former, how sould I do it.

Same question regarding the triplets, which I'm having the most trouble.

Yeah man true to the recording you want to hammer on/pull off the middle part of the verse riff.

When I used to play this I would play each note of the triplet at the end...much the same as the triplet on the verse of "Roadhouse Blues" by The Doors.

There's a few versions on YouTube including some tabbed instructionals. Some guys are hammering on, some are playing them straight. Check em out and see what works for you.

Once you get the tempo up you will probably find it bury in the mix a bit anyway, making it harder for the listener to tell whats going on

Another good idea if you're playing this in a band setting is to check in with what the guitarist/s is/are doing.

Playing each note straight if they aren't, or vice versa, will affect things too
