Quick scale question

how is the arabic scale built?

I believe "the arabic scale" is D harmonic minor, though maybe any harmonic minor would do.. So a minor with an augmented 7th is what you're looking for..

According to a Lebanese friend of mine, he says that on Lebanese guitars, they have two extra frets. I think one was between the 3rd and 4th, and I've forgotten the other now.

What I mean by this is that the space between the 3rd and 4th on a normal guitar, is halved, and a new fret is put in there. So a 22 fret guitar would become 23 fret, but with the same length neck.

Kinda hard to explain :P

I think what you're trying to say is that those kinds of guitars use quartertones, or "notes between the notes". So, it doesn't used the scales of regular Western Music.

this is the correct arabic scale, with E as the root note.
