Hiya folks,

I've got a problem concerning groove & time. When playing live I get a pretty solid groove happening, but when recording I tend to rush slightly - but enough to notice and really annoy me.

The issues involved are mental, technical and astral and whatnot. Yup, I know.

I'm currently working on this issue by recording myself playing over a drum machine beat. I think this will bring results in the long run, but I'd still like to hear of other ways to solve this problem. It seems that if my time's ever off it's because I rush. And recording (or nervousness related thereof) just triggers my worst habit almost every time... it's annoying.

I have an obsession of developing a dead-on time... can't help it.

But anyway, any input will be appreciated.

Try recording with a click track, and really focus on nailing the click just like you would sync with a drummer in a live setting.

Keep working at it, timing can never be too good.
