reduced matt garrison style, good rhythmic/technical exercises?

i've just picked up the matt garrison technique, but i mostly use the thumb and 2 fingers instead of the thumb and 3. what are some good exercises to vary finger usage, multiple strings, use of syncopated dead notes, et cetera to really get this thing nailed down? it's a super flexible technique, though i haven't seen it used to its full potential, and i don't want to waste it just playing notes very fast.

I think that you should start doing some arpegios using the thumb and the 3. If you play a 6 string bass, try to find some arrangements in a chord melody oriented way, take it to the thumb and the 3.
