Rick Danko's Electric Bass Techniques.....
..........Has anyone seen this DVD?

I'm a huge fan of Rick Danko's Bass playing. I just wonder if there's much in it.

Anyone seen it?

Mark.

Here's a preview for it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hif4FUDyd8M

I think I've seen it before, it wasn't too great to be honest. Mostly a very beginner lesson, he also seems stoned.

The DVD in question is an old one produced by Homespun Tapes as
a Level 1 - Beginner level - instructional tape.

'Stoned' or not, Danko played with seminal musicians
of the 60's and 70's before he passed away.

Like many players of his era, you may not agree with his style;
but as far as tone, style and uniqueness, he is there.

Without his signature sound, The Band would not have been
'The Band'.

Homespun also offers tapes dedicated to intermediate
bassists. They asked him for a basic Level 1 and that is
what he recorded for them. Don't judge him solely by
an instructional project he was paid for many years ago,
judge him on his total legacy.

I assume, when you are dead, you would like the same
courtesy; to be judged on everything you offered to
music world and had published, right?

I know Danko was a great player, I'm a fan.
I was just giving my thoughts on this specific video, since that's what the thread is about. I never referred to his entire career.
