ring and pinky finger on plucking hand

I noticed the other day that while i play my ring and pinky finger on my plucking finger go crazy. My pinky sticks up and out and my ring finger follows my middle finger. Is this normal? It seems sloppy and uncontrolled to me and that i could possibly play faster some other way. How do you guys hold them?

The key is to try to relax. You get tired sooner in your hand if your fingers are sticking out like that.

I used to be this way, then I made an effort to stop it and it has been much easier to play after that.

What do you do with them now though or how did you learn to stop. Do they just kind of hang there, do you fold them up? Did you just concentrate on not moving them?

The pinky finger is just in a normal downward position, chillin,
