Rockabilly Bass?

Ok, so I'm getting ready to venture out and start a rockabilly project. I've got a singing guitarist and a drummer lined up. I don't play DB, so I thought I'd see if there are any rockabilly players that can lend me any advice on playing rockabilly on an electric bass. Slapping/popping techniques, what not to do... anything. All advice is appreciated!

IMO, the slapped upright bass is just too important in real rockabilly music to do without.

I am not saying it cannot be done, but "recreating" that sound on a bass guitar is not going to be the same.

I play rockabilly slap bass, and learning to play this style of music and a totally new instrument has been both immensely challenging and rewarding.
