Root Notes...

Sign in to disble this ad
Hiya,

I have a question, would it be considered playing root notes if you wrote the song ?

in other words, i write a lot of songs for my band, and the guitarist ends up playing what i play with power chords etc... would i be considered playing root notes ? even if i wrote the song ? i know some people dont really like playing root notes, but will this count as playing root notes ?

Thank you

every chord is based off of some sort of scale, and the name of the chord is the root.

If your guitarists are playing a C power chord and you play a C note under it, you are playing the root of the chord, and thus playing the root.

Doesn't matter who wrote the song, you are still playing the root note.
