Unhappy Scared for my Middle Finger

No, this is not a thread about obscene hand gestures.
Ok, so yesterday I'm just sitting on the couch, watching TV. I just finished playing drums for a little bit and didn't notice any discomfort in any of my fingers. I move my hand to grab a drink, and before I even touch it, I feel a sharp stinging sensation in the knuckle of my right hand's middle finger. I hadn't done anything that day to aggravate it, although waking up that morning, some fingers on my left hand were very stiff, once again in the knuckles, but this went away after an hour.
This all happened yesterday. This morning my middle finger still hurt, and I still don't know what I did to it. Last night it began to hurt progressively worse, until simply moving it caused discomfort and I was surprised to see it hadn't swollen at all. This isn't a crippling pain, but I am worried that this may be the start of something more serious... perhaps arthritis, although I would be very surprised considering my age...
Basically I just want to know if my fears have foundation, and what I should do to combat this. Will continuing to play bass result in my right hand being crippled? Also, I have a band practice tomorrow. Should I call it off? How serious is this?

P.S. I've already read most of the "Arthritis starts when you are young post"

This sounds like lymphoma to me, man.

It might also be rheumatoid arthritis or hypermobility syndrome or maybe bone cancer.

See where I'm going? Just see a doctor, I'm sure you'll be fine.

Could be bursitis too, I've got it in my shoulder joint and index finger. As with the other guys, go see a doctor for diagnosis. In the meantime RICE; Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation.

I'm sorry, but from the sound of things, your finger will eventually have to come off.

Eh, you probably strained it and you don't know why. Happens all the time. Maybe it was a sleep accident. Or maybe you're just too good a lover
