For about maybe 3 weeks, instead of my normal acoustic bass, I've been practicing on a old acoustic tenor. Will this have any adverse effects?

A tenor guitar? Eh, it probably wouldn't hurt, but it's not the same.

I know. I tuned it down to around the same frequency.

I own a tenor guitar myself, one of the new manufactures.
I do not think it will hurt, but when you get back to playing bass on a regular schedule, you will, as Jimmy said, notice it is not quite the same.

If you want to develop skills as a tenor guitar player and make it a good second instrument, then go visit www.tenorguitar.com. I think you will find the site interesting.
