Ska helps

Sign in to disble this ad
its true. if you want to smooth out your basslines or work on fast string switching listen to the likes of Catch 22 or Streetlight Manifesto or the phat bass lines of Horace Panter of The Specials. Ska can help your playing in many ways.

What about Less Than Jake? Some of their basslines are incredible, try Last One Out, or Five State Drive.

Matt Wong is the man! Beer is one of the first basslines I ever learnt to play, and it's still one of most difficult ones I know today!

True, LTJ isn't for everyone - It's more ska punk, like modern ska, then just plain ska. UB-40 are an awesome reggae-ska band, or Madness

Wow I just checked out the MP3s on your website... Whoa you guys (And girls?) kick ass! I love that warm tone you get, on one of the pics it looks like that P-bass is fretless with flatwounds?

What was the warped tour like!? Did you meet anyone stupidly famous??

It's fretted with Chrome flats but the MP3's are recorded with my Danelectro DC strung Fender flats....

Nice! I use Chromes on my fretless - I love the smooth feel! and wow with the Danelectro, I'd never have guessed that! Pretty versatile basses, there's a local ska punk band around here that uses a lefty DC strung right handed (Fat Mike must have bought most of the right handed ones!) , and they get a really sharp growl from it!
