This is gonna sound like a stupid question but is it possible to slap on a 6-stringer? It's just I've never seen any slap bassist slap anything other than a 4 stringer, and yet I've just got back into slap and love 6ers too.

It may be difficult though since you'd have to mute more strings, also the two extra strings are probably a bit too low to get that classic slap sound so you'd have to get out of the way of those ( but there are people who can do it and sound good). 4 is the best for slapping IMO. |

I wonder if Jean could slap his 11s and 12s?

I play 6-string and a little tight but just have to get used to spacing.

This metal band was looking for a new bass (not fish) player and were having auditions. The first person was a little girl who I believe had an upright bass or something similar and they ran her off. The second person was some hick that brought in a bass (fish) and a bow, but they ran him off pretty quick as well. The last person was a bassist that said nothing but "GWAAAAAAAAAAAAR" and they were a match made in heaven lol.

The song should auto-load with the page and the slapping starts about halfway through the track.
The cool thing about slapping on a sixer is that you can dig into the low register on the B,E and A strings with your thumb and nail chord extensions on the D, G and C strings with your index and middle fingers. This makes for some cool and really full-sounding riffs if your band likes to leave you and the drummer to fend for yourselves when it's your turn to solo.
