I have a video lesson on how to play Higher ground by the chilis, here:

I have a few slap and pop lessons, and other how too's as well.

Hope it helps!

Some RATM stuff is good for a beginner. "Take the Power Back" got me into slap, and their sound is open to throwing in a few slap/pop bits during the riffs on other songs. Experiment, it's fun!

"Shakey Ground" is a good one, but it's by The Temptations, not The Four Tops. "Pow" is great, as is "Hair" or "Water" (also by Graham Central Station). "Thank You (FaLettinme Be Mice Elf Agin)" by Sly & The Family Stone, "Get On The Floor" by Michael Jackson, "Square Biz" by Teena Marie, "Love Games" by Level 42, "Forget Me Nots" by Patrice Rushen.

Easy - Alright by Jamiroquai
Medium - Aeroplane by RHCP
Hard - Run for the cover by Marcus Miller
Very Hard - You can't hold no groove by Victor Wooten

From my point of view, of course...

Ha, yea! I did about 3 or 4 vids where my software had flipped the image, and I couldn't figure out how to flip it back! All sorted now, but no, i'm not a lefty...

Most of Marking Level 42 are so damn hard to learn but Lesson In Love is not. That song got me into slap... groovy and not hard if you pay enough attention...

Actually, I always found "Lessons In Love" to be one of Level 42's harder ones, just by virtue of the stamina required to play that line for four minutes!
