The Slap Bass Welcome Center

I've been contributing to slap threads over the past couple years only to repost the same links and information. I'm sure there are other TB'ists in the same boat. I'm really looking forward to this thread growing into a valuable resource for bassists of all levels doing the slap bass thing.

I could post tons of links to people playing slap bass; however, I'm trying to be really selective in the content I'm posting. Any of us could go to YouTube or Google and pull up 100's of people playing slap bass, but I was thinking that we could post examples from top-notch players/pro's, or lessons that you've found helpful.

When you see the weekly "How Do I Slap?" thread, feel free to send them to "The Slap Bass Welcome Center".

Joe

Michael Manring playing "Excuse Me, Mr. Manring". This clip is not a pure slap bass example, but there is some in there along with a little of everything else. It's a must see for anyone interested in seeing what can be done with a bass.

I'll do what I can to help out around here in terms of answering questions, I do a lot of slap myself (my favourite players include Jonas Hellborg, Mark King and Stuart Hamm) so hopefully I'll be of use!

Mind you, I don't think you can actually play a Kubicki bass without looking like a slap bassist!

What a great initiative, Joe. This surely deserves to be stickied.

Thanks Alvaro! I'm sure you have some resources to contribute to this thread. Do you have any videos on YouTube of you slapping that Bongo of yours?

I'm really looking forward to seeing this thread grow.

Joe

Yes, man:

But it wasn't made with instructional purposes. Just to show a work in progress, so there are lots of flaws. Anyway, thank you for your interest!
