slap and pop harmonics

I've been able to pull off some pretty neat stuff using the palm of my hand on the pinky side to slap out harmonics. Basically what Im doing is slapping or popping and quickly semi muting with the palm to ring out the harmonic (Kinda like a pinch harmonic guitarist use.) Does anyone else use this technique or know of any famous players that do? I would really like to see what all is capable from this.

yeah sounds pretty much like a pinch harmonic. so like your fretting a note, then holding down the string over the pickups with your pinky, and slaping in front of it right?

i think your the first to do it that way. but many bass players already use pinch harmonics. like here's Jaco doing pinch harmonics http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gbDG4DbH9po

and during the solo, Stu Hamm does a couple of pinch harmonics http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H8Q_J2fIKPI (at 0:53 and 0:54)

I use the side of my hand right under the pinky. Kind of like palm muting and when done just right I can get crazy harmonics. Ill try to make a video to show you what I mean.
