"Slap it" question

Sign in to disble this ad
Im probably just being stupid here, but theres something in the slap it book that i dont dont understand. At page 15, example 1 theres two hammered on notes, db an ab. But over its written a T, for thumb. Am i supposed to slap two notes at the same time? Or what is your experience?

Yes, it might be what is sometimes referred to as a "thumb stop", where you slap two or even three fingers at the same time with your thumb. It's slightly different from an ordinary thumb pop in that the thumb is flatter against the strings. You can also use this method with other fingers too, and even your palm. And of course the "finger sticks" that Tony Levin uses.

Yep, just 'strum' both notes with the thumb at the same time, after the 'dead note' pull on the G string.

Cool book to have...
